Whether you're new to Photoshop, or moving up from version 3, Photoshop 4 Complete is both a great reference resource as well as instruction manual. The book is for both Windows and Macintosh users. The layout is well thought out and easy to follow by topic area. It has an extensive section on using Photoshop filters and color correction, as well as detailed information on how to optimally calibrate Photoshop and prepare your finished product for either print or the Web. Advanced users are going to especially like the clear presentation on the use of Photoshop masks, selections, layers and channels. If you are only going to get one book on Photoshop, you should strongly consider this one.
