The Oregon City Municipal Elevator rises 90 feet up a basalt cliff, linking the upper and lower parts of Oregon City. The elevator went into service in 1915, and was powered by water. It was converted to electrical power in 1924, and entirely replaced in 1955. At the top, take a short walk along the upper Promenade for a spectacular view of Willamette Falls.
