Recreation in
Seaside, Oregon

Seaside, Oregon has many recreational activities for the whole family. Take a walk along the famous Promenade for a great ocean view. Or, shop along the "Million Dollar Walk" on Broadway Street, and stroll down to the Turnaround and enjoy the miles and miles of sandy beach.

There are several amusement rides along Broadway, such as the bumper cars and a tilt-a-whirl. If you like games, Seaside offers shooting galleries, skee ball, video arcades and miniature golf. South of town, take a ride on the bumper boats or the go-carts.

Aerial tours of the coast are always a must. The most popular tour goes south about 20 miles to the Nehalem Valley, then back along the beach past Neahkahnie Mountain, Oswald West State Park, Cape Falcon, Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock.

The Seaside Historical Museum will give you a taste of Seaside's early history. The Indian artifacts highlight the Clatsop Indians and the old photographs chart Seaside's course in developing into one of the coast's favorite family beach resorts.

There are trails along the beach, and you can even follow the path of Lewis and Clark along the north side of Tillamook Head. This seven mile hike (one way) gives you a chance to enjoy the spectacular ocean views from the high cliffs above the beach.
