Southern Oregon has theatre and culture activities for all ages. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland presents Shakespeare plays, as well as contemporary works in several different playhouses. Other theatre companies in Ashland offer many different kinds of performances. Music and modern dance is the focus of the Britt Festival, held in the historic gold mining town of Jacksonville.
